Ibrox club Glasgow Rangers manager Steven Gerrard reportedly wants to bring Jermain Defoe to Ibrox from Bournemouth.

Steven Gerrard’s Rangers have been linked with a move for Bournemouth striker Jermain Defoe.
Rangers want to sign the former Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United star on a season-long loan deal from Bournemouth in the summer transfer window, according to a report in The Scottish Sun earlier this month.
It was reported that new Rangers boss Gerrard wants to sign his former England international teammate Defoe on a season-long loan deal this summer.

Hope for Rangers
Given Defoe’s huge wages, it would be tough for the Gers to seal a deal for the Bournemouth striker even on a loan deal, but a new report in The Scottish Sun has given the Ibrox club some hope.
According to The Scottish Sun, Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe could sanction a loan for Defoe while paying a slice of his £65,000-a-week salary.

Smart deal
If the Cherries are wiling to pay part of the former Tottenham star’s salary, then it would be smart of Rangers to bring the 35-year-old striker to Ibrox.
Defoe is a proven goalscorer who has been a star in the Premier League over the years, and the former West Ham and Sunderland striker would be a success at Rangers.
