Bournemouth’s new footballing chief Tiago Pinto is on the verge of pulling off a significant transfer coup.
Former Roma sporting director Pinto himself was a major appointment for Bournemouth when he agreed to become their President of Football Operations in May.
Pinto and Bournemouth have now made their first big move of the summer’s transfer market as he looks to build a squad capable of challenging for Europe under highly-rated boss Andoni Iraola.

Bournemouth agree deal for Dean Huijsen
HITC can now confirm that Bournemouth have agreed terms with Juventus for central defender Dean Huijsen in a deal worth £18million with £3million in add-ons.
The 19-year-old stopper has been with Juventus since 2021 when he was picked up from Malaga’s youth system.
Huijsen made his senior debut for Juve last term before spending the second-half of the season on-loan at Roma – a deal which was overseen by Pinto.
Pinto was a huge fan of Huijsen and he retained that interest as he moved to Bournemouth and has now signed him for the second time in less than 12-months – beating a host of clubs to land him.
HITC previously revealed earlier this summer that Manchester United, Tottenham, Liverpool, Chelsea and Newcastle had all asked about Huijsen.
Spain win battle against the Dutch for Huijsen
Huijsen is now due for his medical in England ahead of signing a long-term deal at the Vitality Stadium.
The teenager defender is set to commit his club future to Bournemouth which comes just months after he committed his international future to Spain.
The Amsterdam-born defender moved to Spain with his family aged just five but he had been a Dutch youth international playing for their age groups from Under-16 to Under-19. But he has now opted to play for Spain after receiving his Spanish citizenship in February of this year and he has since played for their Under-21 side.
