Bournemouth ace Simon Francis was a guest on Sky Sports’ broadcast of Bournemouth’s win over Tottenham today (May 4th, 14:47), and shared something that he noticed Victor Wanyama do just before Nathan Ake scored the winner.

Spurs’ place inside the top four is now in serious jeopardy, and they will have to win their final game of the season against Everton in order to guarantee qualification for next season’s Champions League.

Tottenham have been in woeful form recently, losing eight of their last 15 games in all competitions, and their season is in real danger of being completely ruined.

It seemed as though Mauricio Pochettino’s side were on course to earn a hard-fought point, despite being down to nine men, but Ake rose to score a winner for Bournemouth in injury time.

And Francis shared how Victor Wanyama played a key role in Tottenham conceding the goal:

“Wanyama just leaves Nathan. Wanyama is supposed to be marking him, and he just leaves him.”

Tottenham now have to refocus their efforts back to the Champions League, and they will need to be a lot better than they were today, if they are to have any chance whatsoever of beating Ajax.

And Wanyama in particular will have to be a lot more on the ball.
