Arsenal’s Jack Wilshere joined Bournemouth on loan on deadline day.
Arsenal’s Jack Wilshere with manager Arsene Wenger as he is subtituted
Bournemouth striker Benik Afobe has claimed that new loan signing Jack Wilshere is world class and among the three best players he has ever played with, The Sun report.
The Arsenal midfielder surprised a number of Premier League observers and pundits alike on deadline day as he traded the Emirates Stadium for the south coast in a season-long loan deal.
There he joins up with Cherries striker and former Gunners teammate Benik Afobe, a player who moved to Dean Court from Wolverhampton Wanderers last January and played a key role in the club’s top-flight survival.
Arsenal’s Jack Wilshere in action
Speaking to reporters on the deal, Afobe suggests Bournemouth have made a real coup in bringing in Wilshere as he rates the midfielder up there with the best players he has ever played with.
“I think he’s world-class and I’m not just saying that because he’s one of my best friends. He’s up there with the top three I’ve played alongside,” Afobe told The Sun.
“Jack is a top England international and he’s where everyone wants to get to – but he will also learn from us because he knows at 24 he’s not the finished article.”

Afobe, a former Arsenal academy product, has played with a number of top players such as Mesut Ozil, Santi Cazorla and Alexis Sanchez, and it is therefore obvious how highly he rates Wilshere.
The midfielder seemingly had options to go abroad, but by moving to Bournemouth he is joining a club which has a possession-based attacking style under boss Eddie Howe.
Wilshere must first and foremost improve his fitness and prove he can play a full season without breaking down, while at Bournemouth he will also be expected to become a pivotal figure for the club.
