Baghdad Bounedjah is once again in blistering form for Al Sadd.

The Whites were in blistering form under Marcelo Bielsa once again as they hammered the Rams, with Kemar Roofe scoring two superb goals in a thumping win for Leeds.
Far, far away from life in the Championship, Al Sadd striker Baghdad Bounedjah was enjoying a game that few forwards will ever experience in their professional careers.
Bounedjah, 26, was a part of the Al Sadd side which beat Al Arabi 10-1 on Sunday, and he astonishingly scored seven goals in the victory, with six coming in the second half.
That already takes Bounedjah’s record this season to 10 goals in two games, having hit a hat-trick in the 6-0 win over Al Kharaitiyat last week, with Al Sadd the early pace-setters in the Qatari Stars League.
Algerian hitman Bounedjah has been a sensation for Al Sadd ever since joining from Etoile du Sahel in 2015, with his record for the club now standing at 74 goals in 59 games for the club.
Unsurprisingly, the striker attracted interest over the summer, but L’Expression in Algeria reported that Leeds backed away from a deal for Bounedjah as they would have been forced to meet the £13.25million release clause in his deal.
The Whites clearly felt that wasn’t value for money and pursued Patrick Bamford instead at around half of the price initially, but even after their fine start, Leeds fans would be forgiven for looking at Bounedjah’s exploits and wondering how he’d have been faring under Bielsa.
