Celtic have got fans rolling their eyes again.

While Neil Lennon’s team may have turned a corner with two consecutive victories, the club’s Twitter account is still coming in for criticism.

Supporters have recently mounted a campaign against Lennon remaining in the dugout that saw them respond to every post with an image of the manager behind a ‘banned’ sign.

In recent weeks, there have been a number of birthday posts from the account, with one marking Brendan Rodgers’ 48th proving particularly controversial.

On Tuesday morning, many supporters were surprised to learn that the latest recipient of a birthday greeting from Celtic is none other than Olivier Ntcham.

The midfielder was last week at the centre of a bizarre standoff between Marseille boss Andre Villas-Boas and his club, after Ntcham arrived at the Ligue 1 club apparently against the former Chelsea and Tottenham manager’s wishes.

Ntcham had been out of favour at Celtic Park this season, and was sent to Marseille in a loan deal on the final day of the transfer window.

Celtic’s post raised eyebrows among these fans.

As quoted by Record Sport, Villas-Boas responded to Ntcham’s move by saying: “This is a decision not made by me.

“He’s a player I specifically said no to. I learned about it when I woke up and went on the number 1 website for OM news.

“I submitted my resignation, saying that I didn’t agree with the sporting policy.

“Management didn’t give me final say on things. I don’t want money, I just want to go.

“The club has been through two or three years of just doing anything on transfers and I don’t want to accept that.”
