Joe Gelhardt might have only played over 30 minutes for Leeds yesterday, but the 19-year-old attacker sure left an impact on the Elland Road faithful.
The teenage attacker was introduced by Marcelo Bielsa just past the hour mark with Leeds trailing 1-0 to Wolves. However, Gelhardt was key to overturning the score as the striker won a penalty in the final moments of the match.
With Rodrigo dispatching his kick from the spot, Gelhardt won Leeds a huge point for the Yorkshire giants. Whilst the Whites remain in the cellars of the Premier League table, another loss could have spelt disaster for Bielsa.
Yet another defeat was averted in large part to Gelhardt. The youngster made only his second Premier League appearance for Leeds, and the striker took his chance with both hands.
With Patrick Bamford still injured and Raphina likely to spend some time out on the sidelines as well, Gelhardt could well be given more Premier League minutes in the coming weeks.
Indeed, with Leeds playing in the League Cup on Tuesday night against Arsenal, the attacker could be handed a start by Bielsa, with the Premier League likely to take priority for the Argentine coach.
Leeds fans appalud Gelhardt for heroics

As you would expect, reaction to Gelhardt’s performance was overwhelmingly positive from Leeds supporters. The attacker played a key role in the Yorkshire side avoiding another defeat in the league.
