The Hull City manager Grant McCann has refused to comment on reports linking his side with a move for the Leeds United midfielder Robbie Gotts.

But McCann has confirmed his side are currently working on two new arrivals.

Gotts, who can cover a variety of roles, including full-back, right-wing and central midfield, is said to have interest from two of Leeds’ Yorkshire rivals, Hull and Huddersfield Town.

And it is claimed that a season-long loan deal could be on the cards.

Speaking via BBC Radio Humberside on Thursday, McCann revealed that Hull hope to finalise the signing of a player – speculated to be the Bristol City winger, Hakeeb Adelakun – which was all-but concluded on Wednesday.

And he would like to add a second by the weekend, although that is less likely as things stand.

But, when asked about Gotts specifically, the Northern Irishman replied: “I don’t want to speak about anyone else’s players. I think it’s unfair for me to do that.

“But we are working on another player, as well (as the one aforementioned).”

Gotts came through the ranks at Leeds and was at the heart of the Whites academy’s recent success.

The Harrogate-born 20-year-old made his first-team debut against Arsenal in January and has appeared twice more since then – once against Hull at the start of this month.

Gotts’ former Leeds Under-23s coach, Carlos Corberan, is now in charge at Huddersfield.
