Borussia Monchengladbach came so close to beating Real Madrid on Tuesday night, as they were pegged back in a 2-2 draw.
Marcus Thuram had Gladbach in front, as he rifled a superb finish past Thibaut Courtois having been picked out by Alassane Plea.
The French pair combined again for the second, as Plea’s shot was saved by Courtois, but he parried it straight to Thuram for a tap-in.
Real rallied late on though, as Karim Benzema pulled one back before Casemiro snatched an equaliser deep into injury time.
Gladbach will be devastated to have come so close to beating Real and falling at the last hurdle, and Arsenal fans seemingly had their eyes on a couple of players.
Thuram and Plea stole the show in the Gladbach attack, continuing the form that saw them become stars together in Germany last season.

One Arsenal fan took to Twitter to suggest that Thuram and Plea are the ideal replacements for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette in the Arsenal front line – and received a response from Gladbach.
The German side quipped that Gladbach have never had Aubameyang or Lacazette in order to replace them with Plea and Thuram, suggesting that Arsenal fans need to move on and quit dreaming of signing the duo any time soon.
