The German side have been drawn alongside the Scottish Premiership champions in Group C.

Despite preparing for a Champions League group that also includes Barcelona and Manchester City, Borussia Monchengladbach defender Tobias Strobl has told The Scottish Sun that it is the trip to face Celtic that he is most excited about.
The four teams have arguably been drawn in this year’s ‘Group of Death’. And while Strobl admitted that he was looking forward to the games against the Catalan giants and Pep Guardiola’s side, he admitted that it was the trip to Parkhead that he cannot wait for.

“We face an extremely difficult but also an extremely interesting group,” he told The Scottish Sun.
“Beforehand, we could only dream of playing teams like Barcelona or Manchester City, but now it is reality.
“I am most excited about the atmosphere in Glasgow – that will be really special.”
Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers
Though the Hoops have struggled in Europe over the last few seasons, the atmosphere the supporters generate has inspired the side to some of the most impressive performances the club have put in in recent years, not least, their incredible 2-1 win over Barcelona in 2012.
And in an extremely tough group, the noise that the fans will create inside Celtic Park could be hugely crucial to their hopes of getting some wins under their belt at home and perhaps putting themselves in contention to progress to the next stages.
And as it will arguably become easier to lure, and subsequently keep, better players if they manage to make some kind of mark on Europe this term, Brendan Rodgers will be hoping that the supporters can generate some special atmospheres this time around.
