The youngster completed a season-long loan move to Leeds United this week.
Leeds United have need another left-back ever since it became clear that Charlie Taylor’s future was away from Elland Road, and a season-long loan move for Cameron Borthwick-Jackson means another problem has been solved shortly after the start of the Whites’ league campaign.
However, while the Manchester United man is predominantly utilised on the left he is also a more than capable centre-back, and he could offer additional support in that area when Leeds require it.

Borthwick-Jackson made his United debut on the left and remained there for his proceeding six appearances. However he has featured in the centre for the club’s under-23s on occasions and his height and natural ability mean he would do a job if Leeds boss Thomas Christiansen asked him to.
With Matthew Pennington and Pontus Jansson expected to be the first choice centre-back pairing when both are fit and available, and Liam Cooper and Luke Ayling able to cover when required, the presence of Borthwick-Jackson means that in theory Leeds now have five players who can operate in the heart of their defence.
The new loanee would be well down the pecking order in that regard, with his more likely position set to be on the left as a direct competitor to the recently injured Gaetano Berardi. However the 20-year-old’s versatility means his arrival could be the end of Leeds’ summer business.
Borthwick-Jackson had a disappointing loan spell at Wolverhampton Wanderers last season, but he has plenty of raw potential and Leeds could be exactly the right club to aid his development.
The fact that he can solve more than one problem makes him an even savvier signing than first thought.
