The Huddersfield Town winger is reported to be heading to the Championship club on loan but not all Boro fans seemed pleased about the speculation.

Huddersfield Town winger Rajiv van La Parra is reportedly set to have a medical at Middlesbrough in the next 24 hours ahead of a loan move to the Championship club.

The Sun claimed last week that Boro were winning the race for the 27-year-old, who has managed just five Premier League appearances this season under David Wagner.

Now, Sky Sports News has gone further in claiming that Van La Parra should be heading the Riverside Stadium until the end of the season, with the club also having an option to buy.

In addition, the player is expected to be available for Middlesbrough’s Championship trip to Derby on New Year’s Day, with Tony Pulis’ side desperate for what would be just a second win from seven games.

The Teessiders were also eliminated from the quarter-finals of the Carabao Cup last week at the hands of League One side Burton Albion, who were victorious on Boro’s own patch.
