Boro ran out 5-0 winners over Posh in the third round and some fans can’t believe they’ve seen their side score that many in one game.

Middlesbrough have secured an emphatic 5-0 win over Peterborough to cruise into the fourth round of the FA Cup in Saturday’s clash at the Riverside Stadium.
The opening 45 minutes of the encounter weren’t much to write home about, except for Posh striker Ivan Toney came close to opening the scoring for his side, only to blaze over.
Steve Evans’ side would come to rue that missed opportunity because Boro came back all guns blazing in the second half.
Former Peterborough forward Assombalonga headed in the opener from close range on 47 minutes, before George Friend tucked home a second three minutes later from Ashley Fletcher’s cross.
A 25-yard strike from Lewis Wing just after the hour all but killed off the visitors’ resolve, before Assombalonga added a second on 70 minutes after connecting with a Rudy Gestede backheel and Fletcher rounded off the scoring with a flicked finish from Paddy McNair’s cross three minutes from time.

Tony Pulis had come under criticism by some sections of the Boro fanbase in part due to a style of football they have deemed ‘Pulisball’ but there weren’t too many complaints – still a few, mind – after Saturday’s result.
Here is some of the reaction on Twitter after the final whistle:
