Scottish Premiership powerhouses Rangers paid £2.2m to sign Croatia international Barisic from NK Osijek but he’s struggled of late under Steven Gerrard.

Borna Barisic has admitted that his time at Rangers has been ‘turbulent’ as the Croatian international nears the end of his debut season at Ibrox, speaking to The Scotsman.
The left-back caught the eye of the Glasgow giants last summer when he impressed against them in Europa League qualifying for NK Osijek. Barisic was a constant menace throughout the two-legged tie with his wicked crosses causing no end of problems.
So Rangers jumped at the chance to bring him to Scotland, paying £2.2 million for the privilege.
So far, Barisic has produced an impressive seven assists for Steven Gerrard’s side but his form has dipped in recent months thanks in part to knee and calf problems. The swashbuckling full-back has looked a shadow of his former self of late with Kilmarnock striker Kris Boyd just one of many critics (Scottish Sun).
And Barisic himself has admitted that things haven’t quite gone to plan.

“Rangers are a massive club with huge expectations, but the last few matches we have not been at the standard required at Rangers so the atmosphere around the club is sad,” Barisic said in a refreshingly honest interview.
“I’ve had a turbulent first half of the season at Rangers with injuries.”
Barisic did point out that he is feeling positive and injury free right now so Rangers fans will be hoping to see the best of him again between now and the end of the season.
