On Sunday evening, Milos Raonic announced his retirement from professional tennis.

The former world number three made the announcement on his social media accounts, calling tennis his ‘love and obsession.’

Raonic is one of the greatest players in Canadian tennis history; a player who possessed an almost unreturnable serve and a steely demeanour on court.

The 35-year-old reached his one Grand Slam final at the 2016 Wimbledon Championships, where he lost to Andy Murray in straight sets.

Along with his one Grand Slam final loss, Raonic also lost all four of his Masters 1000 final appearances.
