Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal have both been linked with the player.

Tottenham Hotspur have been heavily linked with an interest in Bordeaux winger Malcom in recent weeks.

The Brazilian, who has also been linked with North London rivals Arsenal, and this week he spoke about how he expected to leave the club in the summer. He told UOL Esporte in his native Brazil that he has been promised a summer move which had Spurs and Arsenal fans licking their lips.

However, the French club have now made it clear no such promise has been made. The club’s president Stephan Martin has now insisted this is not the case.

Tribal Football report him stating:

“We did not not promise anything.

“We will review his case this summer, for sure. He made no secret of his desire to leave. We’ll talk about it again this summer.”

It certainly looks as though Malcom will be leaving the French side in the summer, but they are not prepared to just let him go without a fight.

Tottenham and Arsenal were both heavily linked with the Brazilian talent in the January transfer window.

A report from Le10 Sport last week suggested Tottenham made a final proposal regarding a potential deal for Malcolm amounting to around €50 million (£44.4 million), falling short of Bordeaux’s valuation of €60 million (£53.3 million) by €10 million (£8.9 million).

The report concluded that Tottenham would be back in contact with the French club in the summer and it seems Arsenal will be as well.

This could go on to be one of the biggest stories of the summer transfer window.
