Bordeaux have reportedly agreed a deal for Alexandre Mendy. It could pave way for Liverpool to sign Gaetan Laborde.

According to reports from France Football, French club Bordeaux have reached an agreement with Guingamp over the signing of Alexandre Mendy.

The 24-year-old striker started his youth career with Nice, and made his senior debut in 2013. He went on to make 18 appearances for them, and in between spent loan spells at Strasbourg and Nimes.

He joined Guingamp last season, and scored three goals for them in 22 appearances, of which 17 have come from the bench.

The report claims both the club have reached an agreement for the transfer, and the player will head for medical soon. The duration of the contract, and the transfer fee is unknown.

His arrival could pave way for Liverpool to sign Gaetan Laborde from Bordeaux. Liverpool have been showing a keen interest in the forward, who would cost around £9 million, according to reports from talkSPORT.

Jurgen Klopp is looking to add depth and quality to the side, and views Laborde as an ideal signing to boost his squad ahead of a return to Champions League football.

However, Liverpool need to act quickly, as they may face a tough competition from Arsenal (Foot Mercato), who are hoping to rival the Reds for the 23-year-old striker.
