Leicester City are unlikely to sign Bacary Sagna, reports the Leicester Mercury, with the right-back a free agent after leaving Manchester City this summer.
This is a boost for fellow Premier League sides Brighton and Hove Albion and West Ham United, who are also thought to be considering the 34-year-old.

There is also interest from abroad with Benfica, Sporting Lisbon and Torino in the hunt, but having spent the past decade in England with Arsenal and then City, there is every reason to believe Sagna would be tempted to stay.
It was believed that the Foxes were considering the defender as cover for Danny Simpson, with Daniel Amartey and Yohan Benalouane having been used as makeshift options when the 30-year-old hasn’t been available.

There do also still have one spot remaining in their 25-man squad for the English top tier, but as it stands that looks unlikely to be filled by Sagna.
The Hammers currently have the Frenchman’s former Citizens teammate Pablo Zabaleta and Sam Byram as options on the right side of defence, while newly promoted Brighton have veteran captain Bruno as the preferred choice in the position.
