Liverpool have been linked with Roberto Firmino’s Brazil teammate Anderson Talisca.
Liverpool are set to rival Manchester United and Wolves in the pursuit of striker Talisca, according to talkSPORT.
The 24-year-old, who is in the second year of a loan at Turkish giants Besiktas from Benfica, has been in superb form this season.
That has earned him a call-up to play alongside Liverpool star Roberto Firmino for Brazil and Jurgen Klopp is believed to be keen to bring the pair together at club level too.
Liverpool’s biggest challenge was reported interest from Italian giants Roma.
But Klopp has received a boost after comments from Roma sporting director Monchi regarding his club’s interest in the towering star in an interview with Radyospor.
“It’s obvious that I consider Talisca a strong player,” Monchi told Radyospor.
“He’s an interesting and promising player, every sporting director in the world knows him and thinks he’s a good player.
“As things stand though we haven’t made a move for him.”
That will give the Reds encouragement as Klopp looks to slowly but surely build a side capable of competing for trophies at home and abroad.
Talisca has scored 14 goals in 22 games this season and looks set to surpass the 17 he scored last season.
The Brazilian was previously valued at £18 million but given the huge upsurge in market values – as highlighted by recent Liverpool transfers involving Virgil van Dijk and Philippe Coutinho.
