Liverpool journalist David Lynch has suggested that Harvey Elliott’s recovery from his injury is going well, on the Kenn7 Podcast.
Making progress
Liverpool were rocked early on in the campaign when Elliott damaged his ankle severely.
The injury came at an awful time for the Reds youngster, who appeared to have started to establish himself in Jurgen Klopp’s starting line-up.
But Lynch suggests that his absence may not be as long as many first feared.
“Liverpool are really reluctant to put a timescale on this, but there’s no doubt he will be back before the end of the season. I don’t want to put too much pressure on the lad but I think he might be back earlier than people think,” he said.
If Elliott does return ahead of schedule for Liverpool it will be a massive boost.
Still a part to play?
The teenager has posted cryptic updates on Instagram, which have shown some of his progress as he looks to get back to full health.

Elliott proved his ability to make an impact in Liverpool’s senior squad in the early part of the campaign.
The 18-year-old was proving to be an excellent option for the Reds in central midfield, before picking up the problem.
And if he can return before the end of the season, he may well have a part to play in the run-in, when Liverpool will hope to remain in contention for the title.
