Torino are competing with Sunderland to sign Domagoj Vida, with Leeds United potentially winners from their interest.
Transfer news from Italy appears to provide a boost for Leeds United in their efforts to keep star loanee Pontus Jansson, but a potential blow for Sunderland at the same time.
Tuttomercatoweb report Torino have set their sights on signing Croatian centre-back Domagoj Vida, who had been interesting Sunderland.
The Sunderland Echo reported on November 3 that David Moyes’ side have made Vida a priority for the January transfer window, having failed in their efforts to sign him in the summer.

Vida plays for Dynamo Kiev, and Sunderland need defensive reinforcements urgently, currently sitting bottom of the Premier League.
Torino though could be set to scupper their plans, and have made Vida their number one transfer target in defence this January.

They also tried to sign Vida in the summer, and hope to be more successful this time around now with Kiev facing early elimination from the Champions League, bottom of their group.
For Leeds United the news is potentially welcome. Pontus Jansson is on a season long loan, but they have an option to but him permanently once he has played 20 games, a figure he should react by December.
Torino’s interest in Vida shows they are planning for life without the Swedish international, and may even be plotting to use the cash from his sale towards their new potential signing.
