West Ham United have been listed as outsiders for Bournemouth striker Joshua King, with Everton and Tottenham Hotspur currently joint favourites for his signature.
West Ham have been listed as outside contenders to sign Bournemouth’s Joshua King
Bookmaker SkyBet has listed West Ham as 7/1 outsiders to sign Bournemouth striker Joshua King during the summer transfer window following his tremendous year in the Premier League.
King has been superb for the Cherries this term, scoring 16 times in 36 top flight games to help Eddie Howe’s men move to within touching distance of a top-half finish.
Unsurprisingly therefore, it appears that King is likely to attract some attention during the coming months, with SkyBet believing that West Ham have an outside chance of bagging his signature, having listed Slaven Bilic’s men at 7/1.
It would certainly not be a surprise if the 25-year-old was a player that Bilic would be tempted to consider targeting given the struggles that his players have endured in front of goal this term.
West Ham United manager Slaven Bilic
No member of the Hammers squad has reached double figures in the Premier League this term, so strengthening their options up front will surely be a crucial part of Bilic’s summer.
However, the bookmakers certainly expect the Irons to face an uphill struggle if they hope to land him with Everton and Tottenham Hotspur being both listed as 5/1 joint favourites to sign him during the summer.
And while a move to one of the favourites may seem more appealing currently following West Ham’s unspectacular campaign, Bilic may be hoping – if he is at all interested – that the chance to lead the line at the London Stadium proves just as tempting.
