West Bromwich Albion could perhaps make a move for Arsenal’s Olivier Giroud this summer, according to the bookmakers.

Bookmaker Bet Victor has listed West Brom as the 6/1 joint second favourites to sign Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud during the January transfer window, with only West Ham ahead of them in the market.

The Daily Mirror recently suggested that Giroud’s future at the Emirates could be up in the air this summer, with the Frenchman insisting that he is not happy to play a peripheral role in Arsene Wenger’s side as the Gunners target Alexandre Lacazette and Kylian Mbappe.

The Mirror also suggested that West Ham and Marseille were two of the clubs keen on signing the 30-year-old this summer, with the Hammers reportedly willing to match any bid that comes in for the former Montpellier man.

Unsurprisingly therefore, Bet Victor has included them both at the sharp end of the betting, with West Ham listed as 4/1 favourites while Marseille are just behind at 6/1.

Interestingly though, Tony Pulis’ West Brom are alongside the Ligue 1 side in the betting currently, so perhaps it may not be out of the question to suggest that they may be interested in making a bid for Giroud, who the Mirror suggested could be worth around £20 million.

The Baggies struggled for goals during the most recent campaign, with just two strikers on their books and Salomon Rondon finishing the season as the team’s top goalscorer with eight league strikes to his name.

With Giroud proving a fairly steady goalscorer with Arsenal, it is not too difficult to see why Pulis would perhaps be tempted to make a move, especially if Arsenal strengthen their ranks this summer potentially leaving the path clear for Giroud to leave for a decent fee.
