Tottenham’s Victor Wanyama in action with Hull City’s Harry Maguire
Bookmaker SkyBet have listed Tottenham as heavy favourites to win the race to sign Hull City defender Harry Maguire during the summer transfer window.
Spurs have been heavily linked with the Tigers stalwart recently – The Sun suggested at the weekend that Mauricio Pochettino’s men were battling promoted Newcastle for his signature – but these odds may still come as a surprise to the White Hart Lane faithful.
SkyBet have listed Tottenham at 1/3 to sign the 24-year-old, while Everton appear to be the only other team with a genuine chance of signing him currently – according to the bookmaker anyway – having been listed at 6/1, while they have also offered odds of 9/2 of Maguire staying put at the KCOM Stadium.
Those odds of Maguire staying with Hull will surely move out dramatically if they are unable to get themselves out of the relegation zone during the final two games of the season.

And it appears that Tottenham will be his most likely destination – even if Hull stay in the top flight for that matter – as Pochettino looks to keep building a squad capable of battling for honours on several fronts in the coming years.
And given how Maguire has adapted to his first season as a first-team regular at the highest level, he would surely be a fantastic acquisition if the odds prove to be correct and Tottenham actually are within touching distance of winning the race.
