Manchester United and Liverpool are in the running to sign the Chelsea star, according to the bookies.

Popular bookmakers Paddy Power have installed United as the new favourites in the race to sign Chelsea fringe-man Cesc Fabregas, listing them just ahead of the Reds in the running.

The 30-year-old Spaniard has played a peripheral role in the Blues’ incredibly successful campaign this season, making just 15 starts in all competitions for Antonio Conte’s men thus far.

He still has two years remaining on his current deal at Stamford Bridge, but he will surely be looking for a move away from the club, unless he can be guaranteed more regular playing time – something that seems extremely unlikely with the pragmatic Italian in charge at Chelsea.

And Paddy Power believe that Old Trafford could very well be the former Arsenal and Barcelona man’s next destination, making the Red Devils the new 21/10 favourites in the race to sign him.

It was Mourinho who brought the 30-year-old back to English football, when he signed him for £30 million from Barca in 2014, so the Portuguese is obviously a big fan of the talented midfielder.

Liverpool are next on the list at 3/1, and with Philippe Coutinho continually being linked with Barcelona, Fabregas could be the ideal replacement, should the Brazilian eventually leave the Merseyside club.

And with the summer transfer window on the horizon, this will certainly be one to keep an eye on.
