Could Tottenham Hotspur really make a sensational swoop for the Arsenal superstar this summer?

Popular sports betting company Ladbrokes have dramatically slashed the odds on Spurs signing Gunners forward Alexis Sanchez, making them the new 3/1 second favourites in the race for the Chilean’s signature.

The 28-year-old forward has been in sensational form for the Gunners this season, carrying his side for the majority of their campaign, but he has just 15 months left to run on his current deal at the Emirates, leading to speculation that he could be sold in the summer.

Quite where Arsenal would be without him doesn’t bare thinking about.

He has scored 22 goals and chipped in with 12 assists in 39 appearances for the Gunners this term, and without his influence on the team, there is a genuine danger that Arsene Wenger’s team could become a mid-table side.

And Ladbrokes believe that Sanchez leaving the Emirates is a very real possibility, making Chelsea 2/1 favourites to sign him, ahead of the Lilywhites at 3/1.

If the Chile international did make the move from Arsenal to Tottenham, as far-fetched as that sounds, surely that would see Wenger’s relationship with the fans slump to a new low, and consequently make his position as Gunners boss untenable.
