The Bournemouth forward would be a useful addition to the Swansea City squad.

Popular bookmakers SkyBET have listed the Swans as outsiders in the race to sign Cherries hitman Benik Afobe.

The 24-year-old joined Bournemouth from Wolverhampton Wanderers in January 2016, for a fee believed to be in the region of £10 million, but has since struggled to establish himself at the Vitality Stadium, making just 27 Premier League starts.

His goalscoring prowess is beyond doubt, however, as his record of 22 goals in 46 Championship outings for Wolves go to prove, and he still has plenty left to offer at the very highest level.

And SkyBET believe that he could be heading back to his former club, listing Wolves as 7/2 favourites to obtain his signature.

Perhaps somewhat surprisingly though, given the lack of links, Swansea have been installed as 7/1 second favourites by SkyBET to sign Afobe.

The Arsenal academy product possesses pace in abundance, and is lethal when presented with a goalscoring opportunity. He would undoubtedly offer Paul Clement an entirely different option in forward areas, and if the Swans boss manages to bring him to the Liberty Stadium, it could turn out to be a signing of real significance for the Welsh side.
