Sheffield United are listed as Murphy’s most likely destination, ahead of Celtic, Rangers and Sunderland.

Bookmakers Bet Victor have opened a market on Jamie Murphy’s next club and made Sheffield United favourites for the winger’s signature – ahead of Celtic, Rangers and Sunderland.

Murphy spent two and a half years on Sheffield United’s books, but left the Blades for Brighton in August 2017.

But after helping the Seagulls to promotion last season, the Scottish winger has only appeared four times in the Premier League.

And the bookies believe he could be on the move in January, with Sheffield United (4/1) his most likely destination.

The Blades are currently second in the Championship, and a return to Bramall Lane is sure to appeal should the chance arrive.

Nevertheless, Murphy is also likely to be tempted by a return to Glasgow, were Celtic or Rangers – the club he is said to have grown up supporting – to renew their summer interest, which was reported by Sky Sports at the time.

Bet Victor list Celtc, Rangers and Sunderland at 6/1 for the 28-year-old’s signature, with another Championship side, Fulham, behind them at 8/1.
