SkyBet have made Everton the new favourites in the race to sign one of Burnley’s prized assets.

Popular bookmakers SkyBet have installed Everton as new 6/1 favourites in the race to sign highly-rated Burnley centre-back Michael Keane.

The 23-year-old defender has been a mainstay in the Clarets defence since making his move to Turf Moor from Manchester United in September 2014, making 83 appearances for Sean Dyche’s men.

And today, SkyBet slashed the odds on Keane moving to Burnley, making them new favourites in the race for his signature, ahead of Chelsea at 8/1 and Liverpool and Man United at 10/1.

Keane would seem to fit the profile of potential transfer targets for Ronald Koeman, who is believed to be desperate to inject some youth into his ageing backline.

The former United man only has 18 months left to run on his current deal at Turf Moor, and with no progress being made on new contract talks, it would be hard for a club like Burnley to turn down an offer for the player, either in January, or next summer.

And with the January transfer window just around the corner, the Clarets will surely be bracing themselves for a bid for one of their prized assets.
