Everton need a new forward and the Bundesliga-based player is among the favourites according to bookmakers.
Bookmakers Ladbrokes have made FC Koln striker Anthony Modeste the second favourite to be Everton’s front-line striker next season.
With Romelu Lukaku moving to Manchester United this summer, the Toffees are in need of a direct replacement for the towering Belgian, and while Arsenal’s Olivier Giroud is the 5/4 favourite, Modeste is rated at 9/2 to make the switch to Goodison Park in the current transfer window.

The 29-year-old has put his disappointing loan spell at Blackburn Rovers back in 2012 behind him in emphatic fashion, scoring 45 goals in 73 appearances for Koln and forcing his way on to plenty of clubs’ wish lists as a result.
According to a recent report from the Daily Mail, Everton manager Ronald Koeman is ready to open the bidding for French international Giroud, but it remains to be seen if Arsenal will agree to a deal, even with the recent arrival of Alexandre Lacazette.
Everton are now flush with additional cash following Lukaku’s big-money move, so they can spend big on his replacement if necessary. However if Giroud proves a target too far, the bookies clearly believe Koeman will then move on to Modeste.
Other players on the list include third favourite Josh King and fourth favourite Jamie Vardy, while Javier Hernandez is a 16/1 outsider.
