Bookmakers Bet Victor have made Everton 8/1 third favourites to sign Southampton right-back Cedric Soares this summer.
Only Champions League sides Barcelona and Manchester City are currently priced at shorter odds than Everton, who have yet to be credited with an interest in the 25-year-old.
Toffees boss Ronald Koeman brought Soares to England while in charge at St Mary’s in 2015, in which time the Portugal international has established himself as one of the Premier League’s best in his position.
Both Barcelona and Manchester City have been widely tipped to strengthen at right-back this summer, although Everton’s presence on Bet Victor’s list is somewhat intriguing, given that Seamus Coleman has continued to excel under Koeman.
Behind Coleman, the Toffees have Mason Holgate, Jonjo Kenny and Tyias Browning capable of filling in for the Irishman, although the latter is currently on loan to Preston North End. Nevertheless, a move for Soares’ Southampton understudy Cuco Martina was strongly mooted last summer.

Meanwhile, Bet Victor have also made Everton 4/1 favourites to sign another Saints defender, Virgil van Dijk, this summer, and listed them as 7/4 front-runners to land Burnley stopper Michael Keane.
