The Everton winger is being linked with a return to the second tier, with Leeds United and Birmingham City listed as possible destinations.

Leeds United and Birmingham City are in the running to sign Everton winger Aiden McGeady, Sky Bet‘s latest odds suggest.
McGeady excelled on loan to Preston North End this past campaign and has been linked with a permanent move to Deepdale, while Middlesbrough are also said keen.
Perhaps understandably then, the pair are currently listed as favourties and second favourites to sign the 31-year-old before 3 September, at 7/4 and 3/1 respectively.
However, both Leeds and Birmingham could also be in with a shout, with the bookmaker placing them at 6/1 and 7/1 respectively, ahead of Aston Villa [10/1], Sunderland [12/1] and Celtic [16/1].

The pair are expected to compete for promotion next season and Everton’s McGeady, who scored eight goals and created nine in 34 Championship outings for Preston, could be useful acquisition.
The 88-cap Ireland star has a year remaining on his Toffees contract, although his reported £50,000-a-week salary could be difficult for either Leeds or Birmingham to match [Daily Record].

McGeady was a target for Leeds during Steve Evans’ short tenure, while Alex McLeish tried to lure the player to Birmingham seven years ago.
Would the Everton star be a good signing for Leeds United/Birmingham City?
