Noel Gallagher told BBC Sport that Arsenal fans will be ‘gagging to boo’ their team off the pitch against Brighton today.

In what has been a pretty disastrous season, Arsenal face Brighton on home soil today in front of a returning 10,000 fans at the Emirates.

More than likely, the Gunners will end this campaign without any European football and the already-frustrated fanbase will become even angrier towards those running their club if that happens.

And whilst Mikel Arteta was a success as a number two at Oasis star’s Gallagher’s Manchester City, the same cannot be said for what’s taking place in North London.

“If Brighton play half as well as they did against us (Man City) on Tuesday,” said Gallagher. “And score first, they will win.

“Those Arsenal fans will be gagging to boo that team off the pitch. I’m going for Brighton to win easily, if only to make AFTV a must-watch the next day. 0-3.”

The problem Arteta will find is that if Arsenal are, for instance, losing going into the break then the fans will make their feelings known – and not in a positive way.

And even though that might sound harsh because it’s their first time returning in a long while, a lot of their frustration will stem from what they have seen throughout this campaign.

So, three points are needed to, at the very least, end on a positive note and with a positive vibe.
