Rangers new boy Bongani Zungu has told The Glasgow Times that his father used to talk about the Ibrox club long before his move.
The Gers were linked with Zungu for months over the summer, as they tried to lure him away from Amiens.
Rangers were linked with a host of other midfielders as a deal for Zungu appeared to be falling away before the October deadline.
However, Rangers did secure an agreement on deadline day, and managed to bring Zungu to Ibrox on a season-long loan deal.
The South African ace has been quarantined of late, but will now be hoping for first-team football in the near future.
He faces a tough ask; Steven Gerrard also has Steven Davis, Ryan Jack, Scott Arfield, Glen Kamara and Joe Aribo at his disposal, so he will have to work hard for a start.
Now, Zungu has admitted that it means a lot to sign such a ‘huge club’, and claims his father used to speak about Rangers a lot.

Zungu’s father talked about Manchester United and brought up Rangers as a team that would win plenty of trophies, so Zungu now wants to do the same having joined them.
“It means a lot to me to play for such a huge club, a club with a rich history,” said Zungu. “When I was a young boy growing up in South Africa my dad used to speak of Rangers. To be here today, I feel very proud and happy.”
“My father was a huge football fan and he supported Man Utd when we were young. He really knew about football and he used to mention Rangers as one of the clubs that were winning trophies. Of course, today I am here and I am sure he is very proud of me. I will carry on making him proud and making myself proud. Hopefully I will get to win trophies here,” he added.
