The Turkish midfielder is ready to join Bolton but does not yet have the appropriate paperwork.
Reading’s Jem Karacan (L) in action with Jake Forster Caskey of Brighton
Bolton Wanderers will have to continue their wait for Jem Karacan to sign on at the club.
Phil Parkinson brought the Turkish midfielder in last week. The 28-year-old signed a free transfer following his release by Galatasaray.
The 28-year-old came through the ranks at Reading, where Parkinson is a club legend, and was a massive influence in the Berkshire club’s Championship winning campaign of 2011-12.
After years of injury trouble since he made the move to the Turkish giants in 2015 but struggled for first-team football at the club and left by mutual consent at the start of January.

But while this seems a simple transfer to sign off, that is not the case. As reported by The Bolton News the midfielder is yet to receive international clearance to complete the transfer so will not feature for Bolton in the game with Fleetwood Town in League One this weekend.
Whilst Karacan may have an English mother and was born in Catford he was most recently registered to a team in Turkey and the Turkish FA must approve the clearing of his playing rights before he can officially sign on for the Trotters.
Bolton will be hoping they can get his signature tied up soon as they hope to secure promotion back to the Championship.
