Bolton Wanderers are close to signing free agent midfielder Karl Henry, according to the Bolton News.

The 34-year-old was released by Queens Park Rangers in the summer and has not played since last season.

However desperate times call for desperate measures, and Bolton are not in a position to be picky.

The Trotters sit rock bottom of the Championship with no wins from nine matches and just two points.

Henry has been training over the last month with Premier League side West Bromwich Albion and with the international break soon upcoming, he could quickly get up to speed for Bolton.
