HITC Sport understands Bolton are among a number of clubs eyeing former Leicester City defender Alie Sesay on a free transfer.

Bolton Wanderers, Panathinaikos and AEK Athens are chasing former Leicester City defender Alie Sesay on a free transfer this summer, HITC Sport understands from sources close to the club.

Sesay is a free agent next month when his contract at Greek second division side AO Chania Kissamikos expires and a number of clubs are keen on securing his services.

The 24-year-old impressed at Kissamikos this season, making 28 appearances in all competitions and his performances have alerted other clubs in Greece including Panathinaikos and AEK.

Bolton have also been keeping tabs on Sesay as they look to rebuild their squad following relegation from the Championship this season.

Sesay would fit the bill for Bolton as he is available on a free transfer and he can play anywhere across the backline and also in central midfield, therefore adding options to their thin squad.

The Sierra Leone international came through Leicester’s academy but never made a first-team appearance for the Foxes having had loan spells at Colchester and Cambridge United during his time at the King Power Stadium.
