Bolton Wanderers have begun to put years of pain behind them as they clinched promotion to League One.
The Trotters won 4-1 at Crawley Town on Saturday afternoon, clinching their return to the third tier following relegation last season.
The last few years have been painful for Wanderers fans, as financial catastrophe has seen the club plummet down the pyramid.
They’re now on their way back up under Ian Evatt, and the new didn’t escape the radar of Arsenal defender Rob Holding.
Holding joined Bolton at the age of just seven, and came up through the ranks before heading to Arsenal at 20 in 2016.
He may now have more than 65 Premier League appearances to his name, but he hasn’t forgotten his roots or the club that game him a great start in the game.

Holding took to Twitter over the weekend to send a heartfelt message to Bolton, congratulating them on their promotion whilst hoping that the club goes onwards and upwards.
Arsenal fans weren’t happy, suggesting that Holding should have been apologising for the Gunners going out of the Champions League instead of thinking about his former club.
That’s pretty outrageous, and Bolton fans leaped in to defend Holding whilst urging him to re-join the club in the near future if Arsenal fans don’t appreciate him.
