West Ham United loaned Reece Burke back to Bolton Wanderers last month.
Bolton Wanderers claimed a potentially vital point on Saturday afternoon, as they drew 1-1 away at Sheffield Wednesday.
The Trotters had lost to Preston North End and drawn with Reading before heading to Yorkshire on Saturday afternoon, with Phil Parkinson’s men in need of three points.
George Boyd had put Wednesday in front with just 12 minutes to play, but Bolton substitute Aaron Wilbraham popped up with a 93rd minute equaliser for Bolton, handing them a share of the spoils.
Bolton sit six points clear of the Championship relegation zone, and will be hoping to secure their status in the second tier for next season in the coming weeks.
One of the key players for Bolton on Saturday was defender Reece Burke, who played the full 90 minutes in a strong performance from the West Ham loanee.
Burke, 22, spent the first half of the season on loan with Bolton before briefly returning to West Ham in January, only to eventually return to the Macron Stadium.
The defender posted a message on Twitter to Bolton fans earlier today, stating that he and his teammates will keep fighting until the very end, as seen against Wednesday.
Bolton fans responded by praising Burke’s display, suggesting it was his best performance for the club so far and ‘class again’, with one fan asking the defender to stay with the club.
West Ham fans also sent messages to Burke, suggesting that he is needed at the London Stadium after Saturday’s 3-0 defeat to Burnley and the sale of Jose Fonte, with another fan claiming that West Ham don’t fight until the very end, unlike Burke and Bolton.
