Celtic striker Odsonne Edouard has been in fine form this season.
Celtic defender Boli Bolingoli as told the Glasgow Evening Times that he thinks Odsonne Edouard can reach the same level as Romelu Lukaku.
Edouard, 21, first joined Celtic on loan from Paris Saint-Germain in the summer of 2017, but earned a club-record permanent move to Parkhead a year later.
Now, the striker affectionately known as ‘French Eddy’ by Celtic fans, is in blistering form, smashing 10 goals and six assists in 18 games this season.
Even with the France Under-21’s, Edouard can’t stop scoring, as he’s found the net a frankly ridiculous nine times in just four caps.
Edouard is understandably attracting major interest from some of Europe’s top clubs, and Celtic will be having to fight off bids come January and next summer.
Now, Celtic summer signing Bolingoli has praised Edouard, and even believes he can reach the level of Inter Milan striker Romelu Lukaku; Bolingoli’s cousin.
Lukaku moved to Inter Milan in a £73million deal this past summer (Sky Sports), so Edouard has some way to go before reaching that kind of valuation, but Bolingoli believes the Celtic star can become one of the best strikers in the game.
“For sure he can go to the level of Romelu,” said Bolingoli. “Odsonne is still young and is still progressing but in time, for me, he can become a big striker in the football world. The boy has qualities and we have so many qualities in the team to help him. You see how good he is every day. Even with the national team.”
“He shows his quality every time he plays and for me, he is a big talented player and I can only wish him all the best in his career. He is going to get better and better,” he added.
