Bolasie, who is on loan at Sporting Lisbon from Everton at the moment, played with Zaha at Palace.
The 30-year-old DR Congo international winger has spoken highly of the former Manchester United player, and has reiterated his stance that he is similar to Paris Saint-Germain forward Neymar.
According to The Sun, Newcastle are interested in signing Zaha from Premier League rivals Palace in the summer transfer window.
It has been reported by the British tabloid that the Magpies’ prospective new owners, Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund, will have to pay more than £60 million in transfer fees to sign the Ivory Coast international.
Bolasie told Palace’s official website about Zaha: “When I said Wilf has a Neymar kind of ability, people were like: ‘Nah, nah, nah,’ but then they started looking and saying: ‘Actually, he does.’
“Every season for me, he’s come out and proved he’s got better. Just in different types of ways.
“He’s setting up teammates, setting up people to score, he’s releasing passes quicker than I’ve seen him release passes before.
“I’m seeing an improvement in his whole game, he’s not just this dribbler that everyone thinks he is; he can see a pass and a through-ball.”
