Yannick Bolasie is nearing a return to Everton’s first-team after a long-term knee injury.

Yannick Bolasie will have delighted Everton fans on Instagram by posting a video that saw the winger undergoing an intense workout, measuring his level of skill and reaction time.

The 28-year-old has now been sidelined for a whole year after suffering the long-term knee injury against Manchester United on November 4 2016, going down under the challenge of attacker Anthony Martial.

The former Crystal Palace winger returned to first-team training during interim manager David Unsworth’s short spell in charge before Sam Allardyce took over, and will now be looking to make an appearance sooner rather than later.

The speed machine posted a video that saw him producing a number of tricks and quick changes of movement, as well as testing his reactions on his personal Instagram account, along with the caption “hard work has only just started”.

It remains to be seen when Bolasie will return to first-team action, but he may struggle to gain any kind of regular football with the likes of Gylfi Sigurdsson, Aaron Lennon, Ademola Lookman and Nikola Vlasic all vying for a place in the Toffees’ starting eleven.

Allardyce began his reign as Everton manager with aplomb, beating Huddersfield 2-0 thanks to goals from Sigurdsson and Dom Calvert-Lewin on Saturday afternoon at Goodison Park.
