Everton continued their improvement under Sam Allardyce on Saturday afternoon as they played out a 0-0 draw with Chelsea at Goodison Park.
The Toffees had gone four games unbeaten under Allardyce, winning three times and drawing once as they headed into Saturday’s game.
Billed as Allardyce’s biggest test so far, the game saw Chelsea dominate and put huge pressure on the Everton goal, but they couldn’t find a way past goalkeeper Jordan Pickford.
Everton managed to produce a strong defensive display, keeping Chelsea at bay despite the dominance of Antonio Conte’s side, handing Allardyce a 0-0 draw.
With Everton building their unbeaten run, Allardyce can be delighted with the start he has made to life at Goodison Park, and his players took to Twitter after Saturday’s game.
Midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin, who has struggled this season but produced a strong display against Chelsea, celebrated a good result and looked ahead to the Boxing Day clash against West Bromwich Albion.
Idrissa Gueye posted a message after his injury, stating that he hopes to be back in action soon, whilst Aaron Lennon praised the character of his teammates in another positive game for Everton.
Yannick Bolasie was delighted to be involved in the matchday squad more than a year since his last Premier League appearance, and Wayne Rooney added that he was gutted to miss the game but praised those who did play.
