Former Queens Park Rangers striker Bobby Zamora has shared his thoughts online, after the club’s good run of form continued against Brentford
Bobby Zamora has given his reaction to Queens Park Rangers latest victory over Brentford, and credited manager Steve McClaren as the right man to take the club forward. The former QPR star tweeted how impressed he was with both club and McClaren after Saturday’s success, with Rangers currently just outside the play-offs.
McClaren has enjoyed a stellar week, picking up the Sky Bet Championship Manager of the Month award on Friday, after leading the R’s to four wins from five games throughout October. Much different form to how McClaren started life in west London.
The R’s lost their opening game four games, shipping 13 goals with many supporters fearing the worst. Some were even calling for McClaren to be sacked, but three loan signings and 26 points later, the future looks rosier for all involved at Loftus Road.
Saturday’s win came after goals from Massimo Luongo, Joel Lynch and Nahki Wells wiped out Neal Maupay’s opener, but even a late consolation goal wasn’t enough to dampen the spirits. This was QPR’s first derby success in six against the Bees, and they thoroughly deserved it.
