Bobby Russell comments on Rangers midfielder Graham Dorrans

Pedro Caixinha’s Glasgow Rangers brought Graham Dorrans to Ibrox from Norwich City in the summer transfer window.

Bobby Russell has told Herald Scotland that Graham Dorrans has been one of the better summer signings for Rangers.

Dorrans joined Scottish Premiership club Rangers from Norwich City in the Championship in England in the summer transfer window.

According to Sky Sports, the Gers had to pay the Canaries a transfer fee of £1.3 million in order to secure the services of the Scotland international midfielder.

Rangers midfielder Russell has said that Dorrans was one of the better signings for the Ibrox outfit in the summer transfer window.

The 60-year-old former Motherwell star, though, was disappointed with the 30-year-old’s performance against Celtic in the Old Firm derby.

Pedro Caixinha’s side went down 2-0 to the Hoops at Ibrox in the Scottish Premiership last month.

Former Livingston and West Bromwich Albion midfielder Dorrans started the match and played for the entire 90 minutes.

“He was one of the better signings in my eyes,” Russell told Herald Scotland about Dorrans. “He has played at the highest level in England and he has played for Scotland as well.

“He is one that was always going to enhance the midfield area, although I was a wee bit disappointed with him in the Old Firm game. I think he would be the first to admit that himself.

“He didn’t get a lot of help but I was expecting a bit more from him in that game. Overall, he has played well and he has scored goals so he can have a big impact in that midfield area.”

Rangers are third in the Scottish Premiership table at the moment with 14 points from eight matches, six points behind Celtic and Aberdeen, who are currently first and second respectively in the standings.
