Leeds United’s Pierre-Michel Lasogga is struggling for form.

Former Leeds United man Bobby Davison has told LUTV that out-of-favour striker Pierre-Michel Lasogga is trying too hard to make it work at the moment.
Lasogga has been unable to win his place in the first XI back since returning from a month-long absence through injury.
The on-loan Hamburg striker has been reduced to non-effective cameo appearances in recent games, but the good news for him is that Kemar Roofe, who has four goals in two months, hasn’t been pulling up any trees.

One criticism levelled at the German early on in his Leeds loan was his work rate, but former United hitman Davison isn’t too worried about that and believes his movement is the one area which is holding him back at the moment.
“Not too much of his work rate, what I am critical of is his positional play,” Davison told LUTV, when asked if he has been critical of Lasogga’s work rate at times.
“I think the kid is trying to do the best he possibly can and he wants to get the fans on his side and everything. But I think he is trying too hard – I was watching him, I was watching his movementsand he made his movement before the man on the ball had a proper touch.

“He has made his movement too early in the wrong direction. His movement is all over the place at the moment, he needs a lot of work on his movement.
“But I’m not critical of his endeavours, I’m just critical of his understanding of where to, when to go and how to do it.”
Whether Thomas Christiansen goes with Lasogga or Roofe, it might not be enough to win Leeds promotion to the Premier League.
Neither are bad strikers, but neither are top-drawer strikers either and Leeds could do with one of them this month if they want to finish in the top six.
