Ibrox outfit Glasgow Rangers have a new manager in charge, Pedro Caixinha, following Mark Warburton’s departure last month.
Bob Malcolm has suggested to The Scottish Sun that new Rangers manager Pedro Caixinha will find it easy for the rest of the season.
Caixinha was appointed the Rangers manager earlier this month following the departure of Mark Warburton in February.
The 46-year-old won his first game in charge of the Gers, a 4-0 victory over Hamilton Academical at Ibrox in the Scottish Premiership last weekend.
Former Rangers player Malcolm has suggested that Caixinha would find it easy for the rest of the season as the team would be playing to impress him.
The 36-year-old has also warned that the Portuguese coach would find it hard to sign the right players in the summer transfer window.
“Rangers’ players are fighting for their futures and playing for new contracts, so this is probably the easiest time for him to come in as he has until the end of the season to see what he has at his disposal,” Malcolm told The Scottish Sun.
“The hardest part will be bringing in new players for next season. The pressure will be on him then — and we all know what the Rangers fans can be like when things don’t go right.”
Rangers are nowhere near Celtic in the Scottish Premiership table at the moment, but they are still in with a chance of finishing second.
Clinching the runners-up spot should be deemed a success, and the Gers could then build on it next season.
It will be interesting to see what kind of players Rangers sign in the summer transfer window and the amount of funds he is given.
