Swansea City manager Bob Bradley has admitted that the Welsh club are in a relegation battle this season, as reported by BBC Sport.

There is a renewed sense of hope at the Liberty Stadium, and regardless of how long it may or may not last, for the time being new manager Bradley has got Swans supporters believing that survival is within reach.

Despite losing his opening game away at Arsenal there were positives in the way the Swans played at the first time of asking under the American.

The club find themselves down in 19th with just one win from their first eight league games, and with the likes of Manchester United and Everton on the horizon they will be aiming to pick up some big points in the next few weeks in order to avoid being cut adrift at the bottom.

When asked if his side were in a relegation fight, Bradley simply said: “For sure” as reported by BBC Sport.

“If you look at the way the team has played in recent years and some of the finishes, yes, you could easily say this is a team that has shown itself to be a mid-table type team with possibilities of being in the top 10,” he added.

“If we can get ourselves on a good run, regain confidence and start to move up then I doubt that is going to be a question that I face every week.

“But in the meantime in order for that to happen that’s our job. We have to be able to take points, we have to be able to get on a run and start to re-establish ourselves.”

Bradley has a mixed track record throughout his managerial career; however he is considered a hero by many back in his home nation of the United States.

Regardless of what has happened so far throughout the campaign, the main aim as of this point is to start building some momentum under the new boss.

Their first chance to do so comes this weekend when they host Watford at the Liberty Stadium.
