Tottenham Hotspur were believed to be close to signing the Roma midfielder, but Manchester United have now reportedly entered the race.

According to a report from Italian media outlet Calcio Mercato, Tottenham have received somewhat of a blow today, with Manchester United allegedly looking to hijack their move for Roma ace Nicolo Zaniolo.
The young Italian is a real talent, and seems to have what it takes to go on and become a superstar in the game.
Spurs have been tracking the Roma ace for the past few weeks.
Calcio Mercato claimed last month that Tottenham wanted to bring the 20-year-old to north London, and were prepared to pay around £40 million to make it happen.
Zaniolo himself even told the Lilywhites that he wanted to join them, according to Italian Alfredo Pedulla.
It seems as though Manchester United have thrown a spanner into the works, however.

Calcio Mercato claims that the Red Devils are trying to hijack Tottenham’s move for the Roma ace at the 11th hour.
Spurs do have Champions League football to offer Zaniolo, however, so they are still in a good position to get a deal for the midfield starlet over the line.
They could have doe without from interference from United though, that’s for sure.
