Crystal Palace and Newcastle United are reportedly interested in signing Giannelli Imbula but the Stoke City midfielder allegedly favours France.

Crystal Palace and Newcastle United may have received a knock back if reports of their interest in Stoke City’s Giannelli Imbula from French outlet RMC are true.
That is because the Frenchman would prefer a return to his home country this summer after spending the last season on loan at Toulouse.

After becoming the Potters’ record transfer upon joining the Premier League club from Porto for £18.3m (BBC) on deadline day during the January window in 2016, things never really worked out for the midfielder at the Bet365 Stadium.
Imbula managed just 15 appearances during the 2016/17 campaign as the 25-year-old became an increasingly peripheral figure and went on loan to the Stadium de Toulouse the following summer as a result.

The former France Under-21 international helped his temporary club avoid relegation by just four points last term and would now like to join a top eight side in Ligue 1.
Unfortunately for Imbula, no French teams have shown interest in signing him as yet, with Palace and Newcastle keeping tabs alongside Galatasaray and Torino.
